Six suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Nigerian student to remain in prison for another 8 days

The remaining six suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Nigerian student, Walshak Augustine Ngok has been ordered to remain in detention for another 8 days.


Augustine, 25 was found dead in a forest area in Tashkent, Haspolat on Friday last week. An autopsy carried out by the police revealed that he died of head trauma, brain hemorrhage and choked to death.

Examination of camera footage helped in the arrest of 12 suspects. 

Police got a total of seven statements from the suspects.

12 People were later arrested in connection with the incident. Six of those arrested were released on Wednesday after they were found to have no connection with the murder.

The remaining six suspects which include the prime suspect, Christopher Ezeh, (a Nigerian), two other Nigerians, a Ghanaian and two Zimbabweans were brought to court on Thursday and ordered to remain in detention for a period of eight days for investigation to be carried out.
