13 People arrested for illegal residency and false documents in Lefkosa, Girne, Famagusta and Güzelyurt

No fewer than 13 people were arrested in a raid by the police in several parts of the country during the weekend.

Turkish Cypriot police teams during the weekend carried out public order and traffic inspections in Lefkosa, Famagusta, Girne and Güzelyurt.

The raids were carried out between the hours of 9:00pm on Friday to -01.00 On Saturday morning. 13 people were arrested during the inspections, the majority of which were unauthorized residents and those with false documents.

In Lefkosa, casinos, nightclubs, hostels, yacht houses, Çağlayan Park, Kumsal Park, Barış Manço Park, Caged Park, Yediler Park, Ayluga Church area, Armenian Church area, Terminal area and vehicles in motion were checked.

Within the scope of the raid, legal proceedings were taken against 8 people who were banned from entering the casino.

Five people residing in the TRNC without resident permit and 1 person who is wanted as suspect in an issue of using false documents were identified and arrested.

In GAZİMAĞUSA, raids were carried out in casinos operating in the region, 8 people were banned for visiting the casino and legal proceedings were taken against them.

Three people residing in the country without permission, 1 person with a warrant of arrest and a person who was found to have entered the TRNC with a false document were arrested and legal proceedings were initiated against them.

In GİRNE, raids were carried out in casinos, bars, coffeehouses and discos operating in the area.

Within the scope of the raid, 9 persons who were banned from visiting the casino were found in the casino. 

They were arrested and legal proceedings were made against them.Also, two people who were found to be residing in TRNC without permission were arrested too.

In GUZELYURT, the raid was taken to betting houses operating in the region, places where alcoholic drinks are sold, night clubs and coffeehouses where no negativity was detected.
