37 year-old woman dies from West Nile Virus in north Cyprus
A 37 year-old woman has died from the West Nile Virus in north Cyprus.
The man who was suffering from a high fever caused
by the mosquito-born virus was admitted
to Lefkosa State Hospital six weeks ago.
The woman, who was married with two children, died on Sunday despite all attempts to save his life.
She becomes the third person to have died from the deadly disease in North Cyprus this year.
Unusually heavy rainfall has been blamed for the proliferation of mosquitoes on the island.
