Police arrest human trafficker and students who tried to enter south Cyprus illegally from north Cyprus

A man who was planing on sending five foreigners in a car to south Cyprus illegally was busted in a police raid last week.

The group were arrested on Thursday evening, October, 31 in front of 1001 Airport office located in Balıkesir.

The police arrested five foreigners, the driver of the ford transit brand vehicle with their suitcase. 


Three of the suspects gave “voluntary statements while another suspect said that he had ripped off his passports as soon as he saw the police teams.

It was learned that the driver was arrested 20 days ago with a similar crime and released with collateral.

The other suspects are newly registered university students.


The suspect were detained in prison for a period not exceeding 1 month. The other 5 suspects were released on bail and to be tried in the future.
