Cristiano Ronaldo is now the fifth highest goal scorer in the history of football.

Inter Milan’s 1-1 draw against Leece meant Juventus had the chance to further fortify their lead at the top of the table. And so they did.

Cristiano Ronaldo decided to take the matter in his own hands and struck twice in either half to collect all three points for the Bianconeri against Parma.

With 51 points, Juventus are now four points clear at the top of the Serie A table. But victory for Juve was not the only thing that Cristiano’s brace earned him. 

Overtaking Bayern Munich great Gerd Muller’s tally of 735 strikes, the Portuguese superstar is now the fifth-highest scorer in the history of football. With 126 goals in 1028 games, he boasts an eye-watering 0.72 goal to game ratio.

Ronaldo’s next milestone is to match Hungarian legend Ferenc Puskas’ record of 747 goals. He is also in line to break Brazil icon Pele who sits third with 767 goals.
