Student arrested and detained for falsifying school fees receipt in Girne

An international student has been arrested and detained for failing to register an intending student with a university and falsifying the receipt.

According to the report by Havadis, the suspect pocketed the money he received from his friend to enroll in a university and gave him a falsified receipt.

The accused identified with the initials as D.N reportedly received 330 euros in cash in February 2019 to enroll his friend in a university Girne, north Cyprus.

The suspect was arrested on Saturday, January, 25 and taken to a court in Girne on Sunday for charges of fraudulently editing a document.

He was ordered to remain in detention for 3 days pending investigation.
