Olomoinfo Blog visits CIU Vice Rector, receives gifts made by CIU Students for a Sustainable Campus

Do you know that the Cyprus International University is the only university in Cyprus with a Students for a Sustainable Campus project for the students and by the students?

Olomoinfo Blog today visited the Vice Rector of the Cyprus International University, Dr Prof Majid Hashemipour to discuss sustainability on campus.

The university has a Student for Sustainable Campus program which was implemented in 2017 with the aim to create a culture around sustainability at the university.

These students have been able to come up with several projects which including farming, turning wastes into treasures such as making of bags, pencils from news papers, diary, note books from recycled materials, key holders and several other items that are a part of student life.

These materials are freely given to students and also used for promotional activities.

From researching Sustainability, global climate change, and the University's carbon footprint, to creating projects and awareness around campus, the project hope to become one of the top Sustainable University Campuses in the world!

Our blog was a beneficiary of several of these products. You too can benefit from this project and also be a part of it.
