Man threatened to beat up police officer in Kyrenia, jailed for 3 days

A Turkish Cypriot man is currently cooling his heels in prison after insulting and threatening to beat a police officer in Kyrenia, North Cyprus.

The incident happened last week when Murat Dindi was stopped in traffic by a police officer over a traffic office.

Instead of pleading, he decided to go all out on the officer.

You can not book me, he said to the officer.
Thank the uniform you are putting on, I would have broken your teeth and nose, he continued.
Take off the uniform and come, he added.

He was arrested and taken to a court in Kyrenia where he was remanded for 3 days.
