Seven more cases of Covid-19 confirmed in south Cyprus

Seven more new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed on Sunday in southern Cyprus bringing the total number of cases in the country to 33.

The Cyprus Health Ministry made the announcement on Sunday evening. 

Five of the new cases involved persons who were in self-isolation after returning from the UK and contacted the authorities after showing symptoms. 

The other two cases concern persons who were self-isolated after coming in contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus.

The Cyprus health ministry has already started tracing their contacts to be also tested.

Five coronavirus cases were detected on Saturday and seven on Sunday bringing the total number of cases over the weekend to 12.

There are now 33 confirmed cases in south Cyprus and six in north Cyprus bringing the total number of case island-wide to 39.
