TRNC citizen calls police on students playing football on the street despite government warnings

Despite warnings by TRNC authorities for everyone to remain indoors and avoid crowded areas, some residents (students) in Gonyeli thought it was the best time to play on the street, provoking locals who alerted the police.

A citizen took a picture of the event and wrote;

They, (the students) are putting themselves and others in danger ignoring measures announced by the TRNC government for everyone to stay indoors within the scope of measures taken against coronavirus, that says “Do not go out on the street, stay at home unless there is an emergency” announced for the health of everyone, but there are also people who do not care about these warnings.
Many students returned to their country after a break was announced in universities, but there are also those who did not return and remain in our country. Some black students who are tenants in some houses on Efsane Sokak in Gönyeli got tired of sitting at home yesterday and decided to play out in the streets.

According to a report by Kibris, residents in the area complained that such situations were happening every day and reported the matter to the police.

The police, who went to the area, made the necessary warnings to the students and caused them to disperse.

The residents thanked the police following it's intervention.
