Eleven new cases of coronavirus reported in southern Cyprus

Eleven new cases of coronavirus were reported in southern Cyprus on Saturday bringing the total number of cases there to 761 including in British Bases.

The 11 new cases highlights a downward trend after just 15 cases were announced on Friday.

The 11 new cases were confirmed from 3,209 tests carried out on Saturday.

3 of the new cases were found by contact tracing of 640 confirmed cases, while another positive result was found after 526 tests carried out from people who came abroad. 

Six cases were a result of people who decided to take the test on their own initiative. The last positive case is from a cleaner at Paphos general hospital.
