Four new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in north Cyprus

Four new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in northern Cyprus on Thursday which brings the total number of cases there to 81.

TRNC Minister of Health, Ali Pilli made the announcement on Thursday evening.  

So far, two people have died of the virus in northern Cyprus and 10 in the south which brings the total number of death island-wide to 12.

The new cases were confirmed as a result of 256 tests carried out on Thursday. 

The four new cases are from Girne, Lapta, Karpaz and Famagusta.

So far, 81 cases have been confirmed in Northern Cyprus, and 356 in southern Cyprus bringing the total number of confirmed cases island wide to 437.

Distribution by regions in northern Cyprus is as follows:
Lefkosa 11,
Gonyeli 3,
Girne 1,
Famagusta 3,
Beyarmudu 3,
Lapta 4
Alsancak 4,
Karsiyaka 2
Iskele- 
Karpaz 18.

Breakdown of cases so far
- Number of tests performed today: 256 
- Total number of tests performed so far: 2006 
- Total number of patients recovered: 29
- Number of positive cases detected today: 4 
- Total number of positive cases: 81 
- Number of patients under treatment: 50 
- Number of patients lost today: 0
- Total number of patients lost: 2 
- Number of people in intensive care unit: 2 
- Number of people coming from abroad and kept under state surveillance: 873
