Two earthquakes rocks North Cyprus

Two earthquakes measuring magnitude 4.7 and 4.5rocked the northern part of Cyprus on Wednesday morning.

According to information by Meteorology Department, the two minor earthquakes were recorded off Karpasia peninsula and Hatay in the eastern Mediterranean on Wednesday.

The earthquakes took place at 10:40am and 11:18am respectively.

The first one measuring magnitude 4.7 on the Richter scale occurred at a depth of 8.7 km while the second measuring magnitude 4.5 magnitude occurred at a depth of 13.8 km.

This was the third earthquake to be reported in the same location over the last 24 hours.
