Everyone coming into TRNC will be tested for coronavirus - Health Minister

Everyone coming into the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will be tested for coronavirus, said TRNC Minister of Health, Ali Pilli.

Pilli made the statement last week saying more measures will be put in place in the coming days.

He pointed out that arrival from abroad into the country will start after a while, and that the country is planning to take very serious measures at this point.  

We are in consultation with Turkey about opening the door, he said.

In Turkey, there are some studies about opening of the door. In the coming days we will now consult with the Ministry of Health of Turkey. We will combine the measures they will take with the measures we will take and we will determine a road map, he added.

He went further to say that after opening the doors, everyone who comes to TRNC will be tested.

Not only the test, but also other measures for tourists and other people living here. In this process, we will take measures like the past for the health of our people, he added.

He noted that measures to be taken regarding the start of travels will become clear soon but stressed that the relevant authorities and the public will be informed about this.
