Hotels in north Cyprus to reopen after Bayram holiday

The TRNC government is planning to allow hotels to re-open after the Bayram holiday, the Minister of Tourism and Environment Ünal Üstel has said.

He said that they were working on guidelines for the larger hotels as well as the smaller or medium-sized establishments.

The Tourism Minister was speaking during a visit paid to him by the President of the Eco-Tourism Federation Tarık Tarkan Bozalan.

The conditions under which tourism establishments should be re-opened were discussed during the meeting.

In a short statement after the meeting, Minister Üstel said that work on preparing guidelines for the hotels was near completion and would be announced in the coming days.

Üstel added that the process of reopening tourism facilities would be done without letting go of precautions.

The hotels will most probably be re-opened for domestic tourism, he added.
