More details emerge on the death of two Jordanian students who were found dead in an apartment in Gonyeli

Police investigation into the death of two Jordanian students who were found dead in an apartment in in Gönyeli where they stayed as guest has deepened.

In statements taken by police, it was found that' voices were heard from the house. Police stated that the suspect moved the bodies and placed them on the ground and cleaned the traces of blood.

Sabri İsmail SHARQAWI, 25 and Naser Sabri İsmail SHARQAWI, 20 who are brothers and from Jordan were found dead at about 6:00pm in a Gonyeli apartment where they were staying as guests on Friday, June, 5.

Police launched a wide scale investigation into the incident and a 25 year-old man identified only as K.S.K.O, who was staying in the same apartment.

The suspect appeared for the second time in court on Tuesday where police prosecutor shared the details of the investigation.

The police officer investigating this case, said that  the deceased were found dead in their apartment in Gonyeli by the medical team on duty after someone called 112, and by the time the medic came they were already dead.

The police said , Mohammad Sabri İsmail Sharqawi and Naser Sabri İsmail Sharqawi were then sent to Lefkosa State Hospital  for an  autopsy.

The police disclosed in the court that the suspect did not give blood and urine samples. It is also suspected that the suspect was with the deceased between 01.00 and 06.00 am on the day of the incident and that according to neighbors they heard loud voices  from the house.

The police reported that  “There are scars” and told the court that autopsies were done to the deceased, that it was determined that they had many scars on their bodies.

The investigating officer stated that the suspect moved the bodies from the bed and  placed them on the floor and cleaned the traces of blood.

Judge Şevket Gazi, who was hearing the case ordered that the suspect be detained for further 8 days in order to conduct the investigation safely and effectively .
