One coronavirus related death in south Cyprus, no new cases

One person died from coronavirus in southern Cyprus on Saturday bringing the total number of death there to 25, but no new case of the virus was reported.

The causality, a 68 year old man with underlying health issues died from the virus on Friday night in Nicosia General’s intensive care unit.

2,054 tests were carried out on Saturday with no confirmed case of the virus. The total number of cases remains at 960.

Saturday is the fourth time since the start of the outbreak on March, 9 that no single case was reported in the south.

The other three times were on May 23, May 27 and June 4.

In total 25 people have died with the virus in southern Cyprus. Of these deaths, 18 are attributed to coronavirus — 12 men and six women, with the average age of 71.
