TRNC set to open to arrivals on July 1

The TRNC is preparing to open its ports of entry to international arrivals starting on Wednesday, July, 1.

All foreign nationals apart from TRNC citizens and those with residency permits in the TRNC will be allowed to enter the country under certain conditions, depending on which country they are travelling from.

The list of countries has been divided into three categories.

Those arriving from countries in category A-deemed as low-risk of safe countries will be required to present a negative PCR test carried out in the last 72 hours upon arrival at any port of entry.

Passengers arriving from countries which fall in category B will be required to present a negative PCR test upon arrival and will be subject to a second test at the port of entry. These individuals will have to self-isolate until their test results are announced.

Those arriving from countries which fall under Category A but travelling to the TRNC via Turkey will be subject to the same rules which apply for arrivals from countries under Category B.

Countries which fall in Category C are deemed high-risk destinations and all individuals travelling to the TRNC from these countries will spend 14-days in mandatory quarantine upon arrival.

All costs will be covered by the individuals themselves.

PCR testing will be carried out at Ercan Airport, Girne port and the Metehan crossing point with south Cyprus.

Countries which fall in Category A include 
Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, Bosnia Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, South Korea, Croatia, Switzerland, Iceland, Montenegro, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia and Greece.

Countries which fall under Category B include 
Australia, Belgium, United Arab Emirates, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Israel, Spain, Japan, Canada, Lebanon, Maldives, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Turkey, Jordan.

Countries which fall under Category C include 
The US, Brazil, India, UK, Italy, Sweden, Iran, Mexico, Pakistan, Russia and other countries.
