Vice President NANS-Turkish Zone slam Nigerian government for demanding outrageous evacuation fee for Nigerians in the zone

The vice president of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Turkish Zone, Comrade Opeoluwa Seun has condemned the outrageous fees demanded by the government of Nigeria to evacuate Nigerians in the zone. 

Comrade Opeoluwa Seun in a statement on social media on Saturday called out the government of Nigeria for demanding such an outrageous fees in evacuating Nigerians living in Turkey and Cyprus.

He noted that unlike Nigerians living elsewhere in the world, majority of them living in the zone are students who are not working.

He accused the government of stylishly adding up hotel and medical fees to the flight ticket which the government had earlier said it will not include in the evacuation package.

The embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ankara, Turkey in a notice released last week said it has approved the evacuation of stranded Nigerians in Turkey and Cyprus for Sunday, July, 5.

All evacuees are expected to buy thier flight tickets worth 1,300USD for economy and 1,800USD for business class.

His statement;

I VP National NANS Turkish zone condemn this outrageous fees of evacuation that the government Charge the Nigerians in Turkish zone I believe the Ambassador should inform the government that Turkey/ TRNC are filled with students not workers like they have in Other countries. We said people are stranded and you're charging this outrageous amount.i want to believe also that the hotel fees and medical fees that you said you removed was not removed you have stylishly add it up with flight ticket. I VP National NANS Turkish condemn this fees and I urge the ambassador and the concerned agency to look into #diaspora #dabiri #embassy
