Fire at Lefkosa Central prison
A fire broke out in a ward in the F block at the Lefkosa Central Prison on Tuesday morning for reasons that have not yet been detected.
The incident happened at about 10:30 am. The fire was extinguished by prison staff and firefighters in a short time.
The single bed and mattress in the ward, an electric teapot, a ventilator, 1 plastic cupboard and various clothes and items in it were burned by the fire.
The ward and corridor walls were damaged by the fire.
