Ship used during the 1974 Turkish Peace Operation in Cyprus Çıkarma-128 returns to TRNC

One of the landing crafts used during the 1974 Turkish Peace Operation has returned to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to mark the 20th of July Peace and Freedom Day.

The “museum boat” will be on display as of the 20th of July at the Yavuz Çıkarma Park.
46 years after leaving the island one of the landing craft has returned and will be opened for visits in line with the 20th of July Peace and Freedom Day events.

The Çıkarma-128 boat was repaired by the Istanbul Navy Yard Commander.

The Naval Museum Command transformed the boat into a “museum boat” and donated it to the Cyprus Turkish Security Forces.

The Museum Boat will be open for public visits as of the 20th of July at the Yavuz Çıkarma Park.
