Nigerian seriously injured after she was hit by a car in Famagusta

A young Nigerian student who was hit by a car while using the pedestrian crossing in Famagusta was seriously injured and hospitalized.

The incident happened at about 10:40am on Saturday in front of Sema Hotel in Mustafa Kemal Boulevard in Famagusta.

According to police report, the victim, Abigal Abosede, 26 was hit by a car driven by a 73-year-old Turkish Cypriot man identified as Ahmet Kızan while trying to cross the road using the pedestrian crossing.

Immediately after the incident, another vehicle coming in the opposite direction of the road collided with the vehicle. 

Abigal who was seriously injured in the accident was first taken to the Famagusta State Hospital and then transferred to the intensive care unit at the Lefkosa State hospital where she is currently receiving treatment.
