Two foreigners involved in an accident in Lefkosa detained for impersonation and document falsification

Two foreigners who are students in the TRNC have been arrested and taken to court for deceiving the police after one of them had an accident in Lefkosa this week.

The suspects were arrested on Tuesday and taken to a court in Lefkosa on Wednesday on charges of impersonation.

According to police witness in court, the two accused had committed a crime of falsifying an official documents, obtaining records by false pretense and impersonation of a named person in a document.

The witness said the suspects, at about 10:20am on Tuesday, August, 11 were involved in a road accident on the Near East Boulevard in Lefkosa.

Police said during the investigation of the accident, one of the accused falsified an official document by submitting a document issued on behalf of the second suspect.

Police said the crime was detected in subsequent investigation.

The first suspect was arrested on the basis of committing an act of crime while the second was arrested on the basis of a pending order from the Lefkosa District Court.

Cell phones will be examined 
Stating that it was a serious matter as investigation has just begun, police said their cell phones will be examined and more statements taken.

Haven evaluated the testimony before him, Judge Temay SaÄŸer ordered the suspects to be detained for 2 days so that the investigation can be carried out safely.
