Two new coronavirus cases in north Cyprus on Monday

Two new cases of coronavirus were reported in north Cyprus on Monday bringing the total number of the virus cases there to 153.

Announcing the new case on Monday, TRNC Minister of Health, Ali Pilli said 1,532 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours and 2 positive case s recorded.      

The minister said the cases came to the TRNC by air adding that there had been no local cases in the country except those who came from abroad and their close contacts.

They have started receiving treatment at the State Hospital Quarantine Service in Lefkosa. 

One person was discharged on Monday. 

Pointing out that cases have increased in the countries around the TRNC, especially in Southern Cyprus, Pilli stated that warnings were made by the Ministry of Health regarding the South of Cyprus which have a high level of local contamination and called for the public not to go abroad or to the South unless it is obligatory.

Minister Pilli stated that if it is necessary to go abroad or go south, it is absolutely necessary to pay attention to the rules such as the use of a mask.
