Visa application for students coming from abroad will be re-evaluated - TRNC Deputy Prime Minister

TRNC Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Kudret Özersay met with the Rector of Eastern Mediterranean University, Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın on Wednesday to evaluate measures to be taken for students coming from abroad. 

In a statement made to the press before the meeting, Eastern Mediterranean University Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın stated that during the meeting, he would exchange views on the steps and measure to be taken by the university during the pandemic process.

Emphasizing that as a state university, education will be initiated by prioritizing the safety of employees and students, and emphasized that certain measures will be taken in line with general policies.

He said that the university's academic calendar set the start of education in mid-September, but this date can be updated.

Emphasizing that the necessary infrastructure for face-to-face education have been carried out at the university and that these preparations are currently continuing. He called on parents and students not to about the measures, and that preparations are being made for distance education for students who cannot come.

Speaking during the meeting, Kudret Özersay stated that views will be exchanged on the measures taken and to be taken within the framework of the pandemic process.

He emphasized that the visa application made especially for students coming from abroad and other measures taken during the usual period will be re-evaluated.
