6 people arrested in two separate operations in Lefkosa and Famagusta

Six people between the ages of 21 and 36 were arrested in the drug operations in Lefkosa and Famagusta over the weekend.

According to police report, drugs were seized in a search in a house and two dormitory rooms, and drugs were found at the disposal of a person who ran away after seeing the police.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in Famagusta on Saturday midnight after police found a substance believed to be cannabis type drug weighing about 2 grams.

5 capsules believed to be a cocaine type drug and a substance believed to be a cannabis type drug weighing approximately two and a half grams were found in a search carried out in a dormitory room at around 1:00pm in Famagusta.

Three people, a 21-year-old, a 24-year-old and a 23-year-old believed to be linked to the issue, were arrested.

At the same time, police found about half a gram of a substance believed to be cannabis type drug in a  dormitory room in Famagusta. A 23-year-old was arrested.

In another development, a 36-year-old man who saw the police in Lefkosa on Friday evening threw the substance at his disposal, which is believed to be a synthetic cannabinoid type drug, and tried to escape. The person in question was arrested.
