Union calls on TRNC government to extend the decision to suspend flight for 1 more week

The TRNC Union Platform has called on the government to extend it's decision to suspend flights into the country for another week.

The union Platform in a meeting on Friday called on the government to never allow unquarantined entry into the country.

The Union also urged the government to extend its decision to suspend entry into the country for another week until the cases are brought under control.

The Union's statement is as follows:

The Union Platform, which evaluates the destruction caused by the ongoing Covid-19 epidemic and the reasons of increased cases as a result of the wrong decisions taken by the National Unity Party-People's Party Government to benefit the interests, produced the following decisions;

1-The main reason for the increase in the number of cases getting out of control is the opening of the ports in the north of our island and the entrance from the ports along with the measures that the government has not taken and the scientific predictions. In this framework, the government should extend the decision to suspend the entry into the country for another week until the cases are brought under control.

2-Unquarantined entry to the country should not be allowed. In this regard, the government should not act in disregard of the health of the society. As unions, if these two recommendations are not implemented, we will use our right to action, including general strike.
