Ersin Tatar will be sworn in on Friday, October, 23

New Turkish Cypriot leader, Ersin Tatar will be sworn in as the 5th president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on Friday, October, 23.

Tatar who received his certificate of election earlier in the week will need to decide by Thursday 3:00pm on which duty he will go forth with. 

In accordance with the Law on Elections and Referendums, in a situation where no objections are put forward on the election results 3 days after the election, the president elect will have until 3:00pm Thursday to make his choice between the presidential or parliamentarian position. 

The election results was published in the official gazette on Thursday after no further delays. 

Ersin Tatar will be sworn in on Friday at the Republic’s Assembly. 

After he has taken his oath he will place wreaths at the Lefkoşa Ataturk Monument, Dr. Fazıl Küçük and Rauf Raif Denktaş’s mausoleums. 

Following the wreath laying ceremony, the handing over ceremony at the presidency will take place.
