TRNC OKs the opening of worship center, bars and casinos open

The Infectious Diseases High Committee, which operates under the Ministry of Health, have decided to open bars, casinos and massage parlors.

The health ministry announced on Wednesday that it was easing several restrictions following a drop in the number of coronavirus cases in the country.

In addition to the venues to be opened, the committee approved that collective worship should be held within the framework of measures, and asked to comply with hygiene rules in the places to be opened.

The statement is as follows:

In line with the Decisions Taken by the Communicable Diseases Supreme Committee under the Communicable Diseases Law 45/2018, the Ministry of Health has decided to implement the following Additional Precautionary Decisions. Based on the decrease in the number of internal contamination and cases in our country, it has been deemed appropriate to open the following fields of activity under the specified conditions as of 07.10.2020.

Local transmission cases have also dropped significantly. According to recommendations made by the High Committee for Contagious Diseases, all places of worship, bars, casinos and massage parlours will be reopened on condition that health and safety measures are observed.

- For places of worship, worshipers will be required to wear face masks and maintain social distancing.

-Spaces, where worship is carried out, will need to be ventilated at all times and a register of all entering will be required.

-In bars, a maximum of six persons will be allowed to sit at each table. The distance between tables will need to be two meters apart.

-Again all venues will need to be ventilated at all times and all customers will need to register their names upon entry. Similar measures will be adopted at casinos.

-All staff and customers will be required to use disinfectants regularly.

-Staff at massage parlours will be required to undergo PCR testing once a week.
