TRNC to cover quarantine expenses for all in coming students

The TRNC will cover the quarantine fees of university students arriving in the country for the 2020-2021 academic year, Finance Minister Olgun Amcaoğlu has announced.

Amcaoğlu, in a statement issued on Wednesday, said that the government will be shouldering the quarantine expenses of the students who are arriving on the island for their higher education. 

Explaining that the arriving students had started to be placed at dormitories at the Eastern Mediterranean University to spend their mandatory seven-day quarantine, the Finance Minister pointed to the importance of the arrival of the students in the TRNC. 

He said that the students will help revive the economy but added that the government’s main concern was to ensure that all students received a quality education, in a healthy and safe environment.
