TRNC reduces quarantine days to 7, groups all countries under one category

The TRNC Infectious Diseases Supreme Committee, working under the Ministry of Health, has reduced quarantine period for all visitors entering the country from 14 days to 7 days starting from Tuesday, December, 1, 2020.

The new decision was announced on Friday, November, 27.

The Committee also decided that the countries that were previously classified as Group A, B, C according to the risk categories related to entry into the country will be considered as a single category as of Tuesday, December, 1, 2020.

Accordingly, people who will enter the TRNC from abroad will be subject to quarantine for 7 days, provided that they submit a negative PCR test result made in the last 3 days while another PCR tests will be performed at the end of the quarantine.

Also, those who want to come to the TRNC for 3 days or less (except Southern Cyprus) will be able to enter the country if they submit negative PCR test results and return tickets within the last three days.

These people will be able to stay in the country without quarantine for 3 days if a second PCR test taken at entrance comes out negative.

For stays of more than three days, they will be subject to a 7-day quarantine.
