TRNC government may introduce a 21-day lockdown by December, 25 - Health Minister

A 21 day lockdown may be implemented in the TRNC if necessary for the health of our people, Turkish Cypriot Minister of Health, Alli Pill has said.

Ali Pilli made the statement in a TV program he took part in on Tuesday.

According to him, by Friday, December, 25, a radical decision may be taken in order to counter the increase of COVID-19 cases on the island. 

If necessary we will take a radical decision. We will do whatever it takes for the health of our people, said Pilli adding that if necessary a 21 day lockdown may be implemented.

The Minister said the government proposed radical measure to control the spread of the virus.

here will be no entry to the country without quarantine after this date, he said.

He said they do not want to lose the good course and underlined that there will be no entry without quarantine.
