TRNC make more flights available to bring students from Istanbul to North Cyprus from Wednesday

As from Wednesday, February, 17, two additional flights will be able to bring students from Istanbul to Ercan, North Cyprus.

TRNC Minister of National Education and Culture Olgun Amcaoğlu made the announcement on Tuesday. 

According to information received from university rectors, there are about 17,550 students who are able to graduate this year and that they primarily aim for these students to come.

The Minister said the government want the students to come and complete their education and graduate by the beginning of April and that the students will remain in quarantine according to the category of the country they will come to in accordance with the decisions of the Contagious Diseases High Committee.

The Minister said the necessary decisions were taken at a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Saturday.

As of April 1, the necessary decision has been made to have students come to the island in a healthy way and to start face-to-face education by completing quarantine or vaccination procedure.

Every student who comes here and wants the right to education is our child. We put our Student-Friendly Island Project into practice by saying that they are our children from dormitory rent to grocery shopping. We will share the necessary details in the coming days, the Minister said.

He also added that higher education and tourism should be implemented together with the vaccination against coronavirus.
