TRNC bans passengers from all African countries except for education and business purpose due to coronavirus mutation

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has expanded its restrictions on passengers arriving by air from countries where coronavirus mutations have been identified with the list including all African countries.

Along with the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark and Brazil, all African countries have also been added to the list of countries with restrictions due to the mutation of the Coronavirus. 

In a statement made by the Ministry of Transport, on Wednesday, visits for 'touristic' purposes other than being a resident with resident and work permit, for business, education and property owners were restricted from these countries.

The countries includes; Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botsuana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Kape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Komoros, Congo Democratic Republic, Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Esvantini, Ethopia , Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe , Senegal, Seychelles, Siera Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Sahara, Somaliland, Canary Islands, Cauta, French Southern and Antarctic Islands, Maderia, Mayette, Melilla , Soberanya, Reunion, Pelagie Islands, Sokatra, Saint Helena Ascension and Tristan da Cunha.

Accordingly, anyone arriving the TRNC from these countries will be subjected to a 14-day quarantine condition upon arrival.

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport will publish a NOTAM, which means the 'aviation notice' containing the amendment.
