9-Days public holiday starts in North Cyprus on Monday

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will celebrate double celebration this week starting from Tuesday, July 20.

A four-day Kurban Bayram or Eid-al-Adha will begin on Tuesday coinciding with this year’s 20th of July Peace and Freedom Day celebrations.

A large number of events are being held this year to mark the 47th anniversary of the Turkish Peace Operation. 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo─čan as well as representatives of other countries will be attending the celebrations. 

The government has also given Monday as a public holiday creating a nine-day holiday. 

All government and public offices, except for essential services will be closed next week reopening on July 26.
