Student pushed roommate and injured him, tells him to leave the apartment

A student has been arrested and taken to court for pushing his roommate and injuring him in the process after a verbal argument between them that he should leave the house and rent a new house.

The incident happened in Küçük Kaymaklı, Lefkosa, on Monday, July, 26.

On the day of the incident, the offender identified only as UJO pushed his roommate Pascal Kounchou Wawoue, who was living in the same residence, as a result of a verbal argument between them that he should leave the house and rent a new house, causing Pascal Wawoue to fall and injure himself.

Pascal was taken to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment. After his treatment he was taken to the Ear Nose and Throat Service and his life was not in any danger. 

Police stated that the glass and broken glass found at the scene were taken as evidence on the same day.

U.J.O was arrested and taken to a court in Lefkosa on Tuesday on charges of injury and serious assault.

Police said his status in the country will be investigated and some statements should be taken

The police said that a witness statement was taken and a voluntary statement was obtained regarding the issue and that the statements should be confirmed and refuted.

The police stated that the complainant is not yet in a position to testify and that the necessary research should be done about the doctor's report to be obtained from the hospital and whether the patient needs a new examination or operation. At the same time, he stated that the necessary research should be done regarding the legal status of the suspect and that if the suspect is released, there is a situation to intervene with the witnesses.

Stating that the investigation of the matter has just begun, the Police demanded that the suspect be kept in police custody for 3 days so that the investigation could be conducted safely.

Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Temay Sağer ordered the suspect to be kept in police custody for 3 days so that the investigation could be conducted safely.
