Student stabs roommate with a knife in Lefkosa over food

An argument over food between two house mates ended in blood after one of them, a 24-year-old male stabbed and injured the other in his shoulder with a knife in their apartment in Lefkosa.

The incident happened at about 11:30pm on Thursday, July, 22 in their apartment in Lefkosa.

The suspect injured his flatmate with a knife he took from the kitchen following a heated argument between them.

Police said the suspect stabbed and injured his house mate with a knife "because he asked him to eat him" during an argument over food.

The injured student was taken to Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital Emergency Service in Lefkosa and later discharged after his treatment. Police said his injury was not life threatening. 

The suspect was identified and arrested by the police and the knife taken as an exhibit.

Investigation into the incident continues.
