TRNC Higher Committee of Infectious Diseases announced new decisions

The TRNC Higher Committee of Infectious Diseases on Friday announced new decisions. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is now listed under the ‘red’ category of countries while Turkey continues to remain in the ‘orange’ category of countries.

The following are the decisions taken;

-Covid-19 patients will self-isolate at home as of Monday, July 19.

-Non vaccinated individuals checking in/entering hotels or casinos will be required to present a negative PCR or rapid test carried in the last 72 hours.

-Tables at hotel restaurants will be arranged 2m apart. Service at open-buffets will be carried out by staff. Disposable and single use cups, plates and utensils will be used when serving food. Hotel staff will wear face-masks at all times and will repeat their PCR tests every seven days.

 -Restaurants, cafes, patisseries and other eateries will continue to serve customers at 1/3 seating capacity. Tables at such venues will be arranged 2m apart. Non-vaccinated customers wishing to dine indoors will be required to present a negative PCR or rapid test carried out in the last 72 hours. Staff and employees working in these sectors will be required to wear face-masks at all times and repeat rapid tests every seven days.

-Musicians will be allowed to perform live at restaurants, cafes and taverns but will be required to renew their PCR tests every seven days.

-Seating, tables and bistros at clubs and bars (indoor or outdoor) will be arranged 2m apart. These venues will operate a 1/3 capacity. The same rules will apply for coffee shops, social clubs and cafeterias. Non-vaccinated customers will be required to present a negative PCR or rapid test carried in the last 72 hours.
