About 75 thousand foreign students expected to come to the island in September, who will also be vaccinated

Schools are ready to open for face-to-face education and that there is no longer the luxury of keeping schools closed, said TRNC Minister of Education, Olgun Amcaoğlu.

Amcaoğlu on Wednesday, stated that they decided to open schools for face to face education as a result of long meetings held with the Ministry of Health, the Medical Association and the unions and they are working to ensure that this continues in a healthy process.

He stated that the measures to be taken in the process of opening schools were discussed in the meetings held, and that the decisions taken would be shared with the public on Monday.

Amcaoğlu emphasized that health is the first priority for them and drew attention to the importance of vaccination.

He stated that approximately 75 thousand foreign students are expected to come to the island for university, and the students who will come from abroad will also be vaccinated.

Stating that university students have a very important place for the development of the country, Amcaoğlu said, "The vaccines required for approximately 45 thousand foreign students coming from the third country are currently kept in the refrigerator, all our preparations are complete."

Expressing that online education never replaces face-to-face education and does not give the same quality results, Amcaoğlu said, "We see the best example of this in the decline in university exam results."

Speaking on PCR tests, he said universities will decide on the frequency of both vaccination and PCR tests in the systems established by them.
