Happy New Month of August

Hello it's the month of August!!! It's been a wonderful seven months of the 2021 and with a joyful heart, we welcome you our esteemed readers to the month of August.

In everything and for everything, we thank God Almighty for His goodness, mercies and love towards us.

We want to use this opportunity to wish you our esteemed viewers a blessed and wonderful month of August.

Few fact about August

In the original Roman calendar the month of August was called Sextilis. This was because it was the sixth month of the year. Later, after January and February were added to the calendar, it became the eighth month of the year. At the time the month had 29 days. When Julius Caesar created the Julian calendar in 45 BC, two days were added giving the month 31 days. The month was later renamed Augustus in honor of the first emperor of Rome, Caesar Augustus.

-The Romans gave this month its name in 8BC, after the first Roman Emperor Augustus who ruled from 27BC until his death in AD14.

- The birthstones for August are the peridot and the sardonyx and the flowers are the gladiolus and poppy.
