Police warns of fake dollar notes in circulation

A search by police in Famagusta, found a total of 88 ($8,800) counterfeit notes in one person's possession, consisting of 100 USD denomination notes.

Police, "in further investigation"; stated that it was determined that the person in question also circulated 20 counterfeit US Dollars ($2000) consisting of 100 banknotes by giving them to another person.

Police in a Press released, said “Because of the possibility that these counterfeit notes may have been released before now, banks, foreign exchange companies, financial institutions, markets and citizens, and banks, foreign exchange companies, Persons and institutions that will make purchases, sales and exchanges are kindly requested to be very careful and report any suspects to the nearest police station.
