Bottle gas sales suspended in north Cyprus as scarcity hits hard

The sales of domestic gas in northern Cyprus has been suspended by marketers due to limited supply available.

Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ozan Erenay on Tuesday stated that the amount of bottled gas they will offer to the market has run out, stating that the sale has stopped.

Erenay stated that the amount of bottled gas they can give to the public is exhausted, and there are only 20 percent of gas left, so they stopped the sale.

Speaking further on the issues, Erenay said: “We have consumed all the gas. We only have a bottle of gas at the level we are required to store by law, that is, 20 percent. The law requires us to reserve this 20 percent for soldiers and other facilities. Although we went sparingly, we have now reached this 20 percent rate, and we have consumed the rest. For now, we are out of stock and we are in the waiting phase as there is no gas in our supply. The situation of other gas companies is the same. As soon as gas arrives in the country, we will start redistribution for the public”.
