Narcotic dog help catch man with drug at Ercan Airport

A man who came with a banned substance to the TRNC was caught red handed when a narcotic detector dog reacted after sighting him.

The suspect named only as M.A.S had arrived the TRNC at about 10:30pm on Monday to work and while he going through immigration procedure, a narcotic detector dog named “Ricky” reacted on sighting him.

A search conducted on him and his belongings revealed that he had a cannabis type drug weighing approximately 3 grams in his possession.

He was arrested and the substance taken as an indication.

Police said the suspect confessed to the crime by making a voluntary statement.

He will remain in detention for more investigation.
