Three people caught with fake dollar bill in Lefkosa

Another person has been arrested for using counterfeit money in Lefkosa, just after two other suspects were arrested for the same reason.

The suspect, who is a student in the country, went to an exchange office in Lefkosa to change 30 notes of 50 USD bills on Friday last week. After discovering that the notes were fake, the office alerted the police.

He was arrested and taken to court on charges of possessing and spending counterfeit money.

The suspect confessed to the police that he got the money from another fellow who was also arrested by the police.

Police said investigation launched on the issue and statements made showed that the money belonged to another fellow who had been arrested for the same reason on Monday.
