Foreign national escapes from Student Dormitory near Erülkü

A foreign national, who was been quarantined in a Student Dormitory near Erülkü, has escaped.

The foreign national who is an irregular immigrant, was under the supervision of the Police in Mavi Kalem Student Dormitory when he escaped.

According to information obtained from prison sources; the immigrant in question was not a prisoner, he was in the quarantine dormitory under the supervision of the Police.

He had entered the island on a boat from the Kyrenia coast and was quarantined on the grounds that he was positive.

Police are yet to comment on the incident.
