Turkish Cypriot man threatens wife with violence and death

A Turkish Cypriot man who threatened his wife with violence and death will be detained for some time.

The suspect identified only as Nizamettin Tikici, reportedly threatened his wife with whom they are in the process of divorce with violence. 

According to report by the police, the suspect on Saturday, November 13, 2021, went to his wife's house in Değirmenlik, and threatened to kill her. 

The suspect who entered the woman's property forcefully despite a court order, also kicked and broke the entrance door of the house. 

He was arrested and taken to court on Sunday on charges of "Threat of Violence, Intentional Damage, forceful entry, and Violation of Family Law".  

The police said that there were statements that needed to be taken, and in this context, demanded that the suspect be kept in police custody for 3 days.
