Contacts of coronavirus patients will quarantine for 7 days if vaccinated and 10 days if unvaccinated

The TRNC Ministry of Health has announced that close contacts of coronavirus patients will be quarantined for 7 days if they are vaccinated and for 10 days if they are unvaccinated.

The Ministry of Health released the new information on Tuesday in line with the decisions taken by the Supreme Committee for Infectious convened within the scope of the Infectious Diseases Law, about people who came in close contact with coronavirus positive patient.

In a statement by the Ministry, it was reported that close contacts should stay in quarantine for 7 days if they are vaccinated and for 10 days if they are unvaccinated, according to the last contact date, and according to the negative test result on the 7th and 10th days, their quarantine will end.

In the statement, it was pointed out that if the contacts present their PCR results at the end of the quarantine, they can go to the nearest Turkcell dealer and remove their wristbands.

According to the last contact date, close contacts will stay in quarantine for 7 days if they are vaccinated and for 10 days if they are unvaccinated. The last contact date of close contacts is considered as day 0. If Covid-19 symptoms develop in close contacts during the follow-up period, sampling is ensured by the filiation teams.

For people who are in close contact and do not develop symptoms during the follow-up period, the wristband follow-up will be terminated automatically on the 7th day if they are vaccinated and on the 10th day if they are unvaccinated, and PCR will be taken for control.

The quarantine of close contacts will end on the 7th and 10th days according to the negative test result they have done. 

If contacted persons present negative PCR results according to their vaccination status, they can go to the nearest Turkcell dealer and remove their wristbands.
