Man forcefully abduct a woman in Lefkosa

A Turkish man will face trial for forcefully abducting a woman in Lefkosa.

The suspect only identified as İ.D. committed the crime on Friday, December, 17 when he forcefully abducted his victim, Eşref Can Çiçek from an entertainment venue in Lefkosa and took her to the Beşparmak Mountain, due to a dispute.

Police said the victim was beaten while in the vehicle.

The suspect was arrested and taken to court on charges of 'forcible abduction'.

Police said the suspect threatened to kill her. The police also said the suspect committed the crime of robbery by forcibly taking the mobile phone of the complainant who wanted to call the police.  

The suspect was released on bail and to be tried in the future. He was banned from going abroad and to report to the police station once a week, and deposits the sum of 8,000 TL in cash collateral and also present 2 credible TRNC citizen as guarantors to sign a personal bail bond of 50,000 TL each.
