Weather Report: Heavy rain warning for next 3 weeksin the eastern Mediterranean

The Climate Monitoring Advisory Group, the World Meteorological Organization announced that heavy precipitation is expected in the eastern Mediterranean in the next three weeks.

The abnormal weather warning for the region was based on climate models from the German and French Meteorological Services and the European Medium-Range Weather Forecast Center (ECMWF).

"Anomalous accumulated precipitation is forecast for the next three weeks in the Eastern Mediterranean with a forecast probability of 90 percent for the first week, 70 percent for the second week, and close to 60 percent for the third period," said Climate Monitoring Consultancy.

Unstable weather conditions will affect the region, with weekly precipitation accumulation expected to be 10 to 30mm above normal, according to Cyprus Mail. Again, according to forecasts, there will be snowfall in Troodos at the weekend.

Temperatures are expected to remain the same or slightly below the seasonal average until Sunday. On Monday, it will fall below the seasonal average.
