Man stabs two people in front of hospital in Near East University

A man who stabbed and injured two people in Lefkosa will face trial for his actions.

The suspected identified with the initial, Y.C.B committed the act in the early hours of  Monday, January, 10 in front of the Near East University Hospital in Lefkosa.

He was arrested after the incident and charged to court for the crimes of "Injury and Unlawful Carrying of a Knife."

Police officer who testified in court, said stabbed one Kadir Mert Aydın, with whom he was having an argument with and also injured Ahmetcut Esmer, who was there, with a knife.  

The two injured victims of the attack were taken to the NEU Hospital and are under observation and their life is not in danger. 

Police said the knife in question was taken as an exhibit and the suspect put in detention while investigation into the incident continues.

The suspect was on Thursday granted bail by the court. He was banned from traveling abroad and must report to the police station once a week. He was ordered to pay a bail deposit of 20,000TL, provide a TRNC citizen with a personal bail bond of 200,000TL as a surety.
